Hourly task outsourcing · Paid in QCoins · Since 2010

Get it off your plate.

Every business runs on a layer of work that is genuinely important and genuinely unglamorous. It never justifies a hire. It never stops arriving. Hand it to a specialist who does nothing else, pay by the hour, and get your week back.

It is not a small problem. It is a small job you keep not doing.

Four hundred product listings before the season turns. A supplier portal that has to be filled in exactly right. Invoices that must be coded before the month closes. Records that have to be keyed accurately, by somebody, this week.

None of it is difficult. All of it is exacting, and all of it punishes delay. So it slides onto the plate of whoever has a gap — usually the person you pay the most — and gets done at eleven at night, badly, or not at all. That cost never appears on a single report.

This page exists for exactly that layer of work. Experienced specialists, available by the hour, with no contract, no minimum, no notice period, and a wallet you top up only when you have something to hand over.

The currency

What a QCoin is, and why we bothered

A QCoin is the prepaid credit you use to pay for work here. It exists for one reason: to make the commercial side of a small job so simple that the only thing left to talk about is the work.

The peg 1 QCoin = 1.00 USD Fixed, permanent, and identical from every country we serve.
01

1 QCoin = 1 US Dollar. Permanently.

The peg does not float, and this is not a points scheme with a rate we can quietly move. Work at 9 QCoins an hour costs 9 US dollars an hour, whether you are paying from Manchester, Melbourne, Toronto or Texas.

02

You top up. You do not subscribe.

Add QCoins through Razorpay or PayPal in multiples of five. No monthly fee, no membership tier, nothing that renews while you are not looking. Your card details never touch our servers.

03

They only move for hours actually worked.

Posting a job deducts nothing. QCoins leave your wallet when the work is accepted, and only for the hours logged against it at that task’s published rate.

04

They never expire — and they never convert back.

An unused balance sits there indefinitely at the same value, with no dormancy fee and nothing to renew. The trade for that permanence is that QCoins run one way: once bought they cannot be turned back into dollars, pounds or euros, and cannot be withdrawn to a card or a bank account. They buy QDesk work and nothing else — so top up for jobs you intend to hand over, not as somewhere to park money.

05

One wallet, everything on this page.

The same balance covers data entry today, catalogue work next week and a deck on Friday night. No separate accounts, no separate invoices, no renegotiating a rate every time you come back.

06

You can audit every coin.

Each top-up and each deduction is listed against the order it belongs to, with the hours logged and the rate applied. Any charge on your statement traces back to a specific piece of work.

How it works

From handing it over to paying for exactly what it took

The mechanics are deliberately boring, because surprises in billing are never the good kind.

  1. 01

Pick the job and see the price

Everything on this page carries a published hourly rate in QCoins. You see it before you commit to anything, and it is the same rate for everyone — no bidding, no haggling, no waiting three days for a quote.

  2. 02

    Hand it over. Spend nothing.

Describe the job, attach your files, and post it. No QCoins are deducted. An Operations Manager picks it up from our own queue and confirms the approach with you before the real work starts.

  3. 03

Hours are logged as the work happens

Time goes on the order as it is spent. When the work is delivered you can see exactly how long it took before you decide anything at all.

  4. 04

You accept it — then the wallet moves

On approval, hours logged multiplied by the hourly rate leaves your balance and is recorded against that order. Not before. Never more than that.

  5. 05

Not right? It goes straight back

You have three days with it. Send it back with written feedback and the same manager keeps working — you pay for the hours the job genuinely takes, never a penalty for asking.

  6. 06

Gone quiet? A person decides, not a clock

If three days pass with no word from you, the order does not wave itself through. It goes to a QC Expert — someone who did not do the work and cannot see who you are — who opens the delivery, checks it against your brief, and either confirms it was done properly or sends it back for rework at no charge. Only that confirmation releases the payment.

Short on balance when you come to approve? Top up the difference and carry on. Work is never abandoned mid-job over a wallet.

The rate card

Everything we will take off your plate, and what an hour costs

All rates are QCoins per hour, and one QCoin is always one US dollar. You pay for hours worked — never a project fee, never a minimum, never a surcharge because a file turned out to be awkward.

Why we bill by the hour and not by the record

Per-record and fixed-project pricing rewards speed over accuracy, which is precisely the wrong incentive on work whose only real requirement is that it be right. It also forces both of us to argue about scope before either of us has seen the file.

An hourly rate removes that argument. Difficult work takes longer and you pay for the time; straightforward work takes less and costs less. We estimate the hours before starting, tell you if the estimate moves, and you accept the result before a single QCoin leaves your wallet.

Our guarantee

You are never billed for work you did not accept

This is not a slogan bolted onto the bottom of a page. It is how the billing is actually built, and four separate things have to be true before a single QCoin moves.

01

Nothing is deducted while work is in progress

Your balance has to cover the logged hours before a delivery is released to you, but it is not touched at that point. The coins sit visibly in your wallet until the work is accepted.

02

Rework inside the brief is not a penalty

If the delivery misses the brief, send it back with written feedback. The same Operations Manager keeps at it. There is no revision fee and no rebilling — only the hours the work genuinely takes.

03

Going quiet does not cost you money

An unanswered delivery is checked by an independent QC Expert, who confirms it was done properly or sends it back for rework at no charge. Silence is never treated as agreement.

04

If we got it wrong, the QCoins come back

Where work was billed and should not have been, the full charge returns to your wallet with the reason recorded on the order. Because QCoins do not convert back to currency, that refund is a wallet credit spendable on any QDesk service — it is not a card refund, and we would rather say so plainly than let you assume otherwise.

Read the QCoin Payment Policy in full before your first top-up. QCoins are one-way: spendable on our work, never convertible back to the currency you paid with, and never expiring. Read the QCoin Payment Policy.

Your data, and the people who touch it

The person doing your work does not know who you are

Handing a job to an outsourcer means handing your files to a stranger. So we built the system so that the stranger learns as little about you as the work allows — not as a policy promise, but as a property of the software.

What your specialist sees Slate Kestrel 412 A codename. Not your name, not your email, not your balance — and not something you will ever be asked to quote.
01

Staff see a codename, not a customer

Every account carries an internal codename — something like "Slate Kestrel 412". That is what the Operations Manager and the QC Expert see on your order, in the thread, and in every internal note. You never see it, and it never appears in anything sent to you.

02

Your identity is not hidden — it is not loaded

The difference matters enormously. Your name, email and wallet balance are not fetched from the database at all when a non-administrator opens your order. There is nothing on the page to reveal, so no template change, browser inspector or future bug can expose what was never sent.

03

Nobody sees your money

Your balance is invisible to the people doing your work. A manager whose delivery is waiting on payment is told only that it is waiting — never the balance, and never the shortfall, because the shortfall would give the balance away by subtraction.

04

The QC Expert is doubly blind

The person moderating an unanswered delivery did not do the work, cannot claim or edit work, and cannot see whose it is. They judge the output against the brief, because nothing else is available to them to judge it on.

05

Files stay inside the order

Attachments live outside the publicly reachable part of the site and are served only after a permission check on that specific order. They are not on anyone’s personal device and not in a shared drive.

06

One administrator, one mapping

Somebody has to be able to connect a codename to a real account — for support, billing and legal obligations. That is an administrator, and only an administrator, and every one of those views is written to the access log.

The standard

What "handed to a specialist" actually means

Someone who does this every day

Your job is picked up by an operator who does that specific work daily, on a delivery floor that has been running since 2010 — not by whoever happened to bid lowest this morning.

A second pair of eyes before it reaches you

Output is checked against the brief before delivery. On data work that means a verification pass; on design and documents, a checklist against your specification.

Questions asked, gaps never guessed

Anything ambiguous comes back to you as a specific question with the context attached. We would far rather ask once than hand you a file with a confident invention sitting in row 412.

One name on the order, start to finish

An Operations Manager owns it end to end — the same person in the thread, the same person doing the revision, the same person answerable for the result.

Confidentiality as the default setting

Signed confidentiality agreements with every operator, files kept inside the order thread, limited-permission access to your systems, and your own NDA or data processing agreement signed on request.

Nothing charged until a person says it was right

Either you accept it, or an independent QC Expert checks it and confirms it. There is no timer anywhere in this system that charges a wallet on its own.

Where our clients are

Built for English-speaking businesses, wherever the desk is

Everything here is written, not spoken — email, files, documents and an order thread. That turns the time difference into an advantage rather than an obstacle: hand something over at the end of your day and it is usually moving before your next morning.

Frequently asked

QCoins, pricing, and how a job actually runs

What kind of work does this actually cover?

Anything well defined that matters, takes real hours, needs an experienced person to get right, and can be done entirely online — but is too small, too irregular or too unglamorous to hire for. Data entry, research, listing work, bookkeeping admin, document formatting, back office processing. If you can describe it in a paragraph and attach the files, it belongs here.

What is a QCoin worth?

One US dollar, always. The peg is fixed and does not move with exchange rates, so work at 10 QCoins an hour costs 10 US dollars an hour whether you are paying from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa or anywhere else.

When do QCoins actually leave my wallet?

Only when the work is accepted — by you, or by a QC Expert who has checked it independently. The deduction is the hours logged on that order multiplied by its published hourly rate. Handing a job over costs nothing, and no QCoins move while work is in progress.

Can I use one balance across different kinds of work?

Yes — that is the entire point of a single wallet. The same balance pays for data entry this week, catalogue work next week and a presentation rebuild on Friday, with every deduction itemised against its order in your transaction history.

Do QCoins expire or lose value?

No. An unused balance stays in your account indefinitely at the same one-to-one value. There is no dormancy fee, no expiry date and no tier you have to keep up.

Can I convert QCoins back into dollars, pounds or euros?

No, and we would rather be blunt about that before you top up than after. QCoins run one way. Once purchased they cannot be converted back into US dollars or into the currency you paid with, and cannot be withdrawn to a card, a bank account or a PayPal balance. They are credit for QDesk work only. In exchange they never expire and never lose value, so an unused balance is not lost — it simply has to be spent with us. Top up for jobs you intend to hand over.

Is there a minimum spend or a contract?

Neither. Top-ups start at five QCoins. There is no monthly minimum, no retainer, no notice period and nothing to cancel. Hand nothing over and you are charged nothing.

Why bill by the hour rather than per project?

Because fixed pricing forces both sides to argue about scope before anyone has seen the files, and it quietly rewards speed over accuracy. Hourly billing means a clean batch costs you less and an awkward one costs what it genuinely takes — with the hours visible before you accept anything.

Do you do anything over the phone?

No. Everything here is deliberately non-voice: written, file-based and asynchronous. Where something truly needs a phone call, we prepare the context for you and the call stays with your team.

How quickly does work start?

Jobs go straight into our own operations queue and are usually picked up the same working day. There is no bidding, no proposals to sift and no shortlisting — the queue is worked by our team, not by a marketplace.

What if the delivered work is not right?

You have three days with it. Send it back through the order thread with written feedback and any reference files, and the same Operations Manager keeps working. You are only charged once you accept it. If you say nothing for three days, the order does not approve itself — it goes to an independent QC Expert who checks the work and either confirms it or returns it for rework at no charge.

What is the guarantee, exactly?

You are never billed for work you did not accept. Nothing is deducted while work is in progress; rework inside the brief costs only the hours it takes; an unanswered delivery is independently checked rather than auto-charged; and where something was billed that should not have been, the full charge returns to your wallet as QCoins with the reason recorded on the order. Because QCoins do not convert back to currency, that return is a wallet credit spendable on any QDesk service, not a refund to your card.

Who at QDesk can see my name and email?

Only an administrator. The Operations Manager doing your work and the QC Expert moderating it see an internal codename instead — and your name, email and wallet balance are not merely hidden from their screen, they are never loaded from the database on those pages at all. You never see your own codename; it exists purely so staff can refer to your account without knowing whose it is.

How do you protect confidential files and system access?

Every operator works under a signed confidentiality agreement. Files stay inside the order thread rather than on personal devices, we work in your own systems through named limited-permission users wherever possible, and we will sign your NDA or data processing agreement before anything moves.

Can I get the same person on repeat work?

Wherever the schedule allows, yes — continuity is most of the value on recurring jobs. The Operations Manager who owns your order keeps the brief and your conventions documented, so cover during leave does not mean starting again from scratch.

Can you handle work outside this list?

Often, yes. The catalogue covers what we are asked for most, not the limit of what we do. If your job is well defined, online, non-voice and needs an experienced person, describe it to us and we will tell you honestly whether it fits and what it is likely to cost.

Start with the one you have been putting off

Open a free account, top up as little as five QCoins, and hand over the job that has been sitting on your list since last month. No contract, no minimum, nothing to cancel.
